Frank Kirsch, Sr. – Rodeo Director

Frank Sr. joined St. Paul Rodeo Association in 1938 and was elected to a term on the Board of Directors in 1954. With his wife, Mag, alongside, he completed his rodeo duties to perfection. Frank Sr. worked on advertising and was at the arena out-gate during rodeo performances with his Manegre neighbors. He helped organize road trips around Oregon for marketing SPR with posters and brochures.

Frank Sr. and Mag’s children, Frank Jr., Ken and their families are all involved with St. Paul Rodeo.

Debi McKillip – Rodeo General Membership

Debi, of St. Paul first volunteered for St. Paul Rodeo in the Tack Room during our 1972 Rodeo. She also helped in the Jaycee Bullpen during the 1970’s. In 1981, Debi married Grant McKillip and her rodeo connections multiplied. Grant became a St. Paul Rodeo Director in 1998 and Debi helped him with the Queen and Court Committee and the rodeo treasurer position. Soon after Grant’s election to the Board, he took on our Hospitality Tent and Debi became invaluable to the success of SPR in many ways.

Debi and Grant’s children, Matt, Cody and Katlyn are all SPR members. Son, Cody is a Director.

Brittany Pozzi Tonozzi- Timed Event

Brittany, of Lampasas, TX, won the Barrel Racing event here at St. Paul Rodeo five times in an eight year period. She won in 2006-7-9-12-13. She was the World Champion in 2007 and 2009, and also won the NFR average in 2006 and 2007. Brittany has qualified for the NFR 16 times and has 2.8 million in career earnings.

Brittany keeps an array of horses, so she’ll be prepared for all types of arenas and conditions. This year she plans to bring “Jet’s Top-Gun" to St Paul with her. Her dad was a rodeo fan and helped her learn the ropes in the rodeo business. Her family includes her husband, Garrett Tonozzi (team roper) and daughter, Tinlee.

Brittany says that St. Paul Rodeo is like no other and should be on the bucket list for all serious rodeo fans.

Eric Layton- Contract Personnel

Eric of Red Bluff, Ca, was a cowboy protector and “bullfighter” at St. Paul Rodeo for 15 years between 2006 and 2021. He has worked many Growney Bros. Rodeos up and down the west coast. Eric has also worked the Columbia River Circuit Finals.

Eric has considered St. Paul his “home away from home” since he began coming here with Growney Bros. Rodeo in the early 2000’s. He is especially proud of his relationship with the McKillip’s here and reports he feels like a member of the family.

Eric remains in Red Bluff and works for PJ Helicopters.

David Bothum– Riding Event Contestant

David, from Hermiston, originated nearby in Silverton, OR. He started riding saddle broncs at age 16 and learned the trade from his uncles. One of those uncles is Jim Bothum, who won this rodeo in 1965 and 1983. David has won several places here at St. Paul Rodeo including 2nd the same year his Uncle Jim won in 1983. David won the Calgary Stampede Bronc Riding in 1977. He qualified for the NFR 9 times.

David and friend Butch Knowles founded the Hermiston Farm-City Pro Rodeo in 1988. It has grown into a premier Oregon rodeo, and David serves as its president. David followed his father, Kermit, into the construction business. He and his wife, Cyd, have two children. Son, Ryan, was the 2010 College NFR Champion in Tie-Down Roping. Daughter, Mykael, was a college All-American in track.
